My wife Meredith and I spent quite a bit of time with Jay when he and Laine were first dating. Jay was also my Phi Delt 'big brother.' We were saddened to hear the news. Jay was a funny guy, a great cook he taught me the importance of real butter and heavy cream!, and I never heard him say a disparaging word about another person. He will be missed. The Kelley family will be in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time.

Laine, Mary, Lois, and Jerry, my thoughts are with you and I am so sorry for your loss. My heart just breaks in half for you and your children, I love you guys and I will be praying for you. My memories of Jay are endless. No matter where we were we both always knew that the other one would always be there ,since we were 9 years old we said 'forever'. We will see each other again my friend, you are always in my heart, I love you forever!!

Dear Kelley Family, I am so saddened by your loss. I just can't believe that Jay is gone. We had more than our fair share of fun in highschool and I will cherish all of those memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Love LeeAnne
- LeeAnne Brown Newton, Summerville, SC
While it has been a while since I last saw Jay I will always remember his good heart and big smile. He's also the only person I knew that could make chicken breast taste better than a Chick-fil-A from his own kitchen. Fly high brother, we've got your back. You'll be missed my friend.
